Mental Health Initiative

3.png

Thanks to the support of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, The LUNAR Collective is thrilled to launch a mental health initiative by and for Asian Jews! This Initiative has three components - individual therapy sessions, virtual group sessions, and in-person Shabbat Spa Day - all led and facilitated by licensed Asian Jewish therapists! Whether you are curious about mitigating anxiety, managing reactivity, or how our many cultures and heritages come into play when it comes to mental health - these offerings are a great chance to explore how being an Asian Jew impacts the body, and mind.

Individual Sessions:
Book a session with Tyler!

I'm Tyler Hakomori (he/him), and I’m so excited to offer subsidized individual therapy sessions to the LUNAR community! As a fellow Asian Jew (by way of my Japanese father and Ashkenazi Jewish mother), I am familiar with some of the struggles (and joys) that can come with navigating multiple identities. Growing up straddling two cultures, I often felt like an outsider, so I am thrilled that the LUNAR collective exists. As your therapist, I’d be honored to stand alongside you as you grapple with the complexities of your unique journey of belonging and identity.

Feel free to browse my Psychology Today profile to learn more about me and my practice. Some other focuses of my therapy practice include: self-criticism, shame, childhood trauma / C-PTSD, grief, and existential issues. Outside of therapy, you can often find me riding my bike, birdwatching, and obsessing about Chinese/Taiwanese tea. I look forward to meeting you!

Only $15 / session - LUNAR takes care of the rest!

Due to Tyler's license to practice, sessions are currently offered to California residents only
